I am selling these four iconic Charles & Ray Eames, Herman Miller, authentic Fiberglass in dark blue Shell Chairs, with the popular "Eiffel" base (DSR) version.
In very good condition.
Only sold as set of four.
Production period: 1950-1959
First introduced by Charles & Ray Eames and launched by Vitra/Herman Miller in 1950, marking a milestone as the first mass-produced plastic chairs, combining organic shapes with various bases for versatility.
I bought them over 20 years ago and loved them since, but it is time for a new owner.
These dark blue Eames Fiberglass bucket chairs, with the famous Eiffel Tower base, are designed and developed in Switzerland and manufactured in Germany.
The chair has a fiberglass seat shell, a seat height of 43 centimeters and a seat depth of 52 centimeters.
The so-called Eiffel Tower base features a complex and elegant steel wire construction, combining light, elegant shapes with structural strength.
The original Eames Fiberglass Chairs were given a comfortable plastic seat cushion upholstered in dark blue leatherette in the early 1980s.
Each chair has a factory label with a number for authentication.
One of the four chairs has a small scratch on the seat cushion, see photo. The chairs and base are in excellent condition.
