Arty GRIMM
Painter, graphic artist, sculptor, textile artist.
Born in Rotterdam in 1950.
Education:
Arty Grimm trained at the Academy of Fine Arts in Djokjakarta, Indonesia.
She lives and works alternately in Amsterdam and Acquoy (Geldermans).
Arty Grimm says her work represents her world and is primarily about the experience. She therefore works without a preconceived plan, without sketching or signing, but starts painting right away. An inspiration for Grimm is literature, which has also resulted in a collaboration with Cees Nooteboom: they make screen prints and poems together, related to the same theme. Arty Grimm is married to Spanish artist Miguel Ybañez.
