Charming table clock from the renowned German brand Hermle (Franz Hermle & Söhne), dating from the 1950s. The asymmetrical, trapezoidal case in dark lacquered wood with light wood veneer and a chrome rim is typical of the mid-century design of that period. The dial features a warm, two-tone wood look with gilded baton indices and brass hands, with the original Hermle logo and “Germany” on the dial.
It features a mechanical 8-day movement with both timekeeping and striking mechanisms (recognizable by the two winding holes). The caliber number 401/2 is listed on the door.
Condition: The clock is currently not running and is due for servicing. The case is in neat, original condition with some signs of age/use appropriate for its age.
A beautiful decorative object for lovers of vintage and mid-century interior pieces, suitable for having it serviced yourself or as a charming showpiece. Sold in current (non-working) condition.
