Original Herman Miller Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman – 1960s – Rio Rosewood
An exceptional collector's item of the American design classic by Charles & Ray Eames from the 1960s.
On offer is an original Herman Miller Lounge Chair (Model 670) with a matching Ottoman (Model 671) from early US production.
The combination of expressively grained Rio Rosewood and black original leather makes this ensemble a particularly desirable specimen.
PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED – ORIGINAL SUBSTANCE PRESERVED
The Lounge Chair was carefully and professionally restored by the Vitra-certified restorer Stefan Thoma. The greatest possible preservation of the original substance was paramount.
Only necessary wear parts, including the Shock Mounts, were renewed. The restoration work is documented.
The black original leather is in an exceptionally well-maintained condition without cracks. The wooden shells impress with their intense, lively grain and the special depth of the Rio Rosewood.
AUTHENTICITY AND DOCUMENTATION
The dating to the 1960s is confirmed, where possible, by the written expertise of the restorer Stefan Thoma.
Original manufacturer markings are present, as well as the expertise and the CITES certificate for the Rio Rosewood.
A rare, excellently preserved ensemble for collectors and lovers of authentic Mid-Century design classics.
