This large, hand-thrown stoneware apothecary jar bears the inscription MENTHE (MINT) in clear letters, engraved into the enamel with the quiet confidence of things made to last. The surface displays a deep, nuanced, living bronze-green patina: as if time had worked the enamel from within. Light does not glide over it, it clings to it. An imposing silhouette. The conical knobbed lid dictates the silhouette. The whole is balanced, stable, dense. The interior reveals the throwing marks, vibrant, sincere. One senses the hand, the gesture, the material.
