ProfessionalProduct description
Statuette – statue in poured concrete with a white gesso finish by well known Dutch sculptor Henk Zweerus. Zweerus is well known, especially in Amsterdam where he graced several public squares with his creations in his role as the official city sculptor (notably: Valeriusplein and Leidse Bosje (image included) still feature his sculptures).
His atelier on the banks of the Amstel River was frequented by prominent artists from the circles of COBRA such as his friend Karel Appel and others. At a later stage in his life he was a noteworthy educator of numerous well known architects and sculptors.
