Product description
This is a characteristic head sculpture of a child, made by the Dutch Gebroeders Paridon. The work is a typical example of the Sculpture that the studio produced in the first half of the 20th century, known for their decorative sculptures.
The sculpture is made of ceramic with a dark brown, wood-imitating finish. The child's expression is serene and subdued, with detailed modeled hair and facial features characteristic of the Amsterdamse School style. On the back, the sculpture is marked with '240. A.P.' and a manufacturer's stamp, confirming its authenticity and origin.
The overall condition of the sculpture is good, in accordance with its age. The original finish is largely intact and has developed an authentic patina that contributes to the object's historical character.
This sculpture is an understated decorative object that fits well in a classic or eclectic interior. It can be a subtle, artistic addition to a dresser, a bookshelf, or a desk, bringing a touch of Dutch design history.
