About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is the Uchiwa lounge chair, a design by Doshi Levien for the Danish brand HAY. The chair is inspired by the traditional Japanese fan, which is clearly reflected in the inviting and enveloping shape of the seat shell.
The armchair features a generous and soft seat, upholstered in a durable textile fabric in a striking salmon pink. The back of the shell shows a contrasting, lighter woven fabric. The base is made of solid oak with a natural finish, providing a stable foundation and a warm, Scandinavian accent. Doshi Levien's design combines a hard plastic outer shell with a soft, padded interior for optimal comfort.
The overall condition of the chair is good, with a solid construction and a vibrant color that has been preserved. The upholstery is slightly loose, and the shape is intact, which testifies to the quality of Danish craftsmanship by HAY. The chair shows character consistent with careful use.
With its sculptural presence, the Uchiwa chair functions as a comfortable reading chair in a living room or as a stylish accent in a bedroom or study. The design fits seamlessly into both modern and eclectic interiors.
