Product description
This Pendant lamp was designed by the Finnish designer Yki Nummi, produced by Sanka. The iconic 'Skyflyer' model Lokki (seagull) is a classic from the design history of the 1960s. The piece is characterized by its striking 'flying saucer' silhouette, a typical example of Space Age aesthetics.
The lamp is made of white acrylic, which provides a diffuse and pleasant light. The shade is held in place by a suspension system with three metal chains, contributing to its floating appearance. As indicated on the original label, this lamp was produced in Finland and represents an important piece of Scandinavian design from the mid-20th century.
The overall condition of the lamp is very good, in accordance with its age. The acrylic has retained its shape and shine well and shows the character one would expect from a vintage item. The original structure and components are intact, which emphasizes the authenticity of the piece.
This Pendant lamp is a statement piece that fits perfectly into an interior with a Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian or Space Age style. It is an ideal light source above a dining table or as a central element in a living room, where it adds both function and sculptural value.
