This hand-woven Azilal carpet, measuring 318 x 118 cm, has already had quite a ‘life’. What once began on the looms shifted to a place in the weavers’ interiors, and soon this beautiful carpet might just be in your home. A vintage addition, in other words. High in the Atlas Mountains, this carpet was made with much love and care by the women of the Azilal tribe. Traditional Azilal rugs are handmade from cotton and (colorful) wool. These materials are combined by the weavers into a unique and decorative design. Often small but exquisite. To protect the carpet against ‘the ravages of time’, the rug has been washed in a traditional way with natural soap. Subsequently, they are dried in the sun. The creativity of the women shines through in every detail, turning the carpets into true works of art that can also be used perfectly as wall decoration. Material: 100% wool
