This piece of folk pottery from Fajalauza (Granada, Andalusia), an area heavily influenced by Muslim pottery, displays the characteristic cobalt blue and copper green colors on a white background, as well as plant and architectural motifs accompanying the crosses in the typical style of the region. The San Isidro Arab Pottery Workshop was an emblematic traditional ceramics factory in Granada. Its legacy, comprising more than 400 pieces and traditional kilns, was donated to the University of Granada to form part of its heritage collection. Holy water fonts were usually placed in bedrooms next to beds for making the sign of the cross, and occasionally at the entrance of homes, so this one is ready to hang. Good condition. Dimensions: length 27.5 cm – width 10.5 cm – height 5 cm.
