Product description
This handled dish immediately captivates with the richness of its decoration and its excellent state of preservation. The cream earthenware is radiant, the glaze is intact, and the colors of the central bouquet have lost none of their freshness. At the center of the dish, a flourishing bouquet brings together tulips, chrysanthemums, anemones, and roses in a composition that is both dense and airy. The shades of mauve, yellow, white, and rust naturally complement each other. On the rim, small secondary bouquets discreetly punctuate the space, creating a refined decorative rhythm. The fluted handles, accentuated by a burgundy line that also runs along the edge of the rim, give the piece its distinctive character. This type of serving dish, typical of French production from the first half of the 20th century, was designed to be presented at the table and passed from hand to hand. On the reverse, the printed rectangular stamp attests to its manufacture by B. Charbonnier in Salins-les-Bains, in the Jura, a French factory renowned for its fine earthenware with floral decorations. With its total width of 30 cm including handles and its basin of approximately 24 cm in diameter, the dish has a real presence.
