Private sellerProduct description
For sale: a beautiful, authentic vintage Kelim (Kilim) runner with a striking geometric design. This unique flat-woven rug shows the characteristics of a traditional Pirot or Torontál Kelim from the Balkan region. The central field has a deep red base adorned with stylized, geometric bird or insect motifs (often associated with strength and protection in weaving tradition). The contrasting, serrated white border contains a continuous pattern in black, blue, green, and ochre yellow. The rug is beautifully finished at the ends with ecru-white fringes. Thanks to its specific, narrow dimensions, this runner is perfectly suited for a hallway, corridor, kitchen, or next to the bed. Because the rug is hand-woven on a vertical loom, the pattern is exactly the same on both sides (fully reversible), which ensures an extra long lifespan. An absolute eye-catcher that adds warmth and character to a modern, vintage, or eclectic interior! Specifications: • Type: Kelim runner (flat-woven / flatweave) • Material: 100% Wool (wool weft on wool/cotton warp) • Dimensions: 170 cm (length) x 53 cm (width) — measured excluding fringes • Production: Hand-woven, authentic vintage • Condition: In very good vintage condition (see photos for details) The rug can be easily and compactly rolled up, making shipping via parcel post (domestic and international) no problem at all.
