Product description
Hand-woven Jajim Kilim Fars 158x155 No: 2582 , Kilim and Persian rugs are all terms associated with traditional textile art and each have their own characteristics and cultural roots. Let me break them down for you: 1. Jajim (Jajim rugs) Origin: Jajims are traditionally woven in parts of Iran and other regions influenced by Persian culture. Material: Usually made of wool, sometimes in combination with silk or cotton. Weaving technique: Similar to kilims, they are woven using a flat weaving technique. However, they are often lighter and more flexible. Pattern: They are characterized by bold, colourful, striped patterns. They are often reversible and can be used as rugs, blankets or wall hangings. Uses: Known for their wearability, they are often used by nomadic communities. 2. kilim (kilim) Origin: Kilim rugs (or kilim carpets) are found throughout the Middle East, Central Asia and the Caucasus, including Persia (modern-day Iran). Material: Made of wool, often dyed with natural fabrics. Weaving technique: A flat weaving technique that produces a thin, pile-less surface. The patterns are created by interweaving warp and weft threads. Pattern: Often with geometric patterns such as diamonds, zigzags and other symmetrical motifs.
