The piece dates from the mid-Showa period (approx. ) and was entirely hand-turned and painted by the renowned Kokeshi master Tomohiro Kakizaki. With a height of exactly one Shaku (30.2 cm), this specimen is among the most cherished sizes by collectors of authentic Japanese folk art.
