Product description
A tabletop photo frame from the 1960s, made entirely of transparent glass. Its most distinctive feature is the large outer panel with an irregularly hammered edge, a treatment that emphasises the thickness of the glass and creates a succession of reflections around the entire perimeter. A second glass panel is mounted at the centre to hold the photograph and is secured to the structure by small metal fittings. At the back, a support also made of glass allows the frame to stand at an angle while maintaining an especially clean and visually light construction. The contrast between the perfectly smooth surfaces and the more tactile treatment of the outer edge forms the principal decorative element of the piece. The transparency of the glass leaves the construction and its minimal fittings clearly visible, giving the frame an understated yet refined appearance typical of decorative glass design from the 1960s.
