A scissor wall lamp produced by HALA Zeist in the 1950s. The lamp features a yellow metal shade and an adjustable scissor arm, allowing the light to be extended or positioned closer to the wall.
The shade was designed by H. Busquet and has a patented construction consisting of two rotating shades with openings that can be adjusted to influence the direction and effect of the light.
The lamp is in very good condition, showing only minor signs of age from storage and a small dent in the lampshade.
HALA was founded in 1932 in Zeist, the Netherlands, by industrial designer Herman Theodoor Jan Anthoin Busquet and became one of the early Dutch manufacturers of modern lighting.
This example comes from original old stock and still retains its original HALA brand tag.
