ProfessionalProduct description
The very best I have ever seen, which is why it is more expensive. I have also sold pieces from 4000 to 8000, but this one is different. Very early green cactus model in polyuretane foam in very good conditionIconic cactus capstan in very good original condition. Signed #494/2000 Gufram Multiples '86. The Gufram Cactus is included in several museum collections around the world and documented in a number of 20th century decorative arts publications. First edition not numbered. Materials and techniques: Polyurethane, green lacquered "Guflac" finish. Literature: Design of the 20th century, Fiell, p38. In the collection of: The Museum of Modern Art, New York, Pompidou de Paris, Tate Museum London.
Cactus, the subject of often ambiguous interpretations, is the icon of Italian design that revolutionized the domestic landscape by subverting the boundaries between interior space and open space. Cactus comes as an ironic totem and embodies the imagination and humor of 1970s design. Cactus comes to life in 1972 thanks to the genius of Guido Drocco and Franco Mello. Produced in 1986, No. 494 / 2000, used only as decoration, very well preserved! This green is the most authentic green, even different, more beautiful green, as the earlier, also very beautiful green cactus sold and delivered by me in Paris.
Dimensions: Weight 21 kg.
