Karin Sommen graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts in 1994 and completed her advanced degree in painting at the art academy in Hoogstraten (Belgium) in 2017. As a visual artist, Karin creates work that, like herself, is constantly in motion: searching, traveling, on the move. In recent years, this has resulted in various paintings and series of paintings.
Since 2015, Karin has exhibited regularly at home and abroad, for example in the Stedelijk Museum of Hoogstraten, Belgium (2017), gallery MAF in Meerle, Belgium (2018) and various public buildings in the Netherlands.
