Product description
Title: Monumental Masterpiece (150x120) – "The Gymnast" (Beijing 2008)
Description:
Bring the dynamism and energy of sport into your home with this spectacular large-format painting by the Dutch artist. Titled "The Gymnast", this work was created in anticipation of the Beijing Olympic Games (2008).
This canvas is a visual feast of color and movement, but what makes it truly unique is the layered technique. In addition to acrylic paint, Megens has incorporated sand into the canvas, creating a beautiful, robust texture that appears different with every change in light. It symbolizes the power, the sweat, and the raw energy of an athlete in full action.
High-Quality Museum Quality:
As is customary with Megens' top pieces, this work is executed on high-quality linen and stretched on a professional aluminum frame.
Your guarantee: An aluminum frame is dimensionally stable and insensitive to temperature fluctuations. Your painting will therefore remain hanging perfectly straight and taut for decades, regardless of the 150 cm dimensions.
Why this work is a top find:
Unique Texture: The combination of acrylic and sand gives the work a 3D experience that photos can hardly capture.
Historical Context: An artistic tribute to one of the most iconic sporting events of this century.
Size: At 150 x 120 cm, this is a monumental eye-catcher for a spacious hall, living room, or office.
Condition: Excellently maintained and fully authentic (signed).
