Private sellerProduct description
This large sculpture is a sculptural interpretation of the famous 19th-century painting 'The Angelus' by Jean-François Millet. The work depicts a peasant couple laying down their tools for a moment of prayer in the field, a scene of tranquility and devotion.
The sculpture is made of spelter, a zinc alloy, and finished with a deep, bronze patina that gives it an antique appearance. With a height of 67 centimeters, it is a substantial decorative object. The composition is detailed, from the figures' traditional clothing to the agricultural tools at their feet, reflecting the realistic style of the original artwork.
The overall condition is good, consistent with the object's age. The patina is largely intact and contributes to the authentic character of the sculpture. It is a heavy and stable piece, emphasizing the durability of its construction.
Thanks to its classic and realistic appearance, this sculpture fits well into various interior styles, from rural and rustic to eclectic or classic decor. It can serve as a striking centerpiece on a dresser, console, or in a library.
