Beautiful Mid-Century Vallauris Lidded Jar/Lantern Vase (27 cm) – Grandjean Jourdan Vintage Grandjean Jourdan Vallauris
A stunning, authentic French mid-century lidded jar / lantern vase from the renowned Grandjean Jourdan studio in Vallauris (Southern France), dating from the 1950s / 1960s. This handmade piece of studio ceramics has a beautiful, substantial height of 27 cm and is a wonderful example of the heyday of Vallauris pottery.
The jar is finished in a warm, glossy two-tone glaze (brown and cream) and features a very fine, hand-carved openwork (pierced) floral motif of flowers and leaves.
Unique detail & authenticity: At the very bottom, on the inside of the base, is the original, stamped spiral mark (the famous snail shell logo) of Grandjean Jourdan. This confirms the authenticity and makes it a sought-after collector's item for lovers of French mid-century design.
