"England calling", from this beautiful telephone bench or in the much nicer English a real "Gossip bench".
In times gone by, a lot of calls were made to the outside world from this cute vintage piece of furniture.
But even though we rarely or no longer call landlines these days, this piece of furniture has survived the test of time and still stands up charmingly.
Very nice as a decoration in the home or practical to use in the hall or bedroom to put on your shoes, for example.
Equipped with a drawer and a beautiful open cupboard space, the upholstered seat offers some extra comfort.
A special detail is that this seat is easy to slide in so that it ends up under the cabinet.
Truly unique is the extendable and almost hidden "note space", you can see it as a very early form of a whiteboard on which you can write with a pencil.
