Product description
Authentic piece of folk art in salt-glazed stoneware,
hand-crafted in Belgium.
This vintage pot or large flamed stoneware goblet was
entirely turned by master potter Bernard Dubois,
a worthy representative of the 13th generation of
this illustrious dynasty of art potters established
in Bouffioulx since the end of the 16th century. The
Dubois workshop perpetuates the ancestral charcoal
firing and salt glazing at high temperature.
The piece features an embossed escutcheon representing
a ten-point stag's head, symbol of the Ardennes
forests, surmounted by the engraved inscription
"FRANCORCHAMPS". The base reveals the artist's
hand-incised signature "B. Dubois" as well as the
model number "32". A magnificent high-end collector's
piece.
