Lamp base in glazed ceramic signed Meynard, Vallauris, circa .
Beautiful baluster-shaped lamp base in ceramic, entirely covered with a speckled blue-turquoise glaze of the finest effect, featuring a stylised vegetal decoration engraved in relief in the clay. The granular texture and iridescent shades of the glaze testify to the craftsmanship of the Vallauris workshops, the cradle of French art ceramics from the mid-20th century.
Signed under the base Meynard, after the ceramists Robert and Violette Meynard, based in Vallauris.
Height 37 cm.
Maximum diameter approximately 15.5 cm.
In good condition with signs of use and age. There is a hairline crack to note.
