Product description
Rosenthal glass vase “Duo”.
Creator is Tapio Wirkkala Form 12509/20.
Rosenthal Glasswork rented the Kristal-Glasswerk Amberg in the early 1960s and produced a collection there.
A speciality of this collection were the mouth-blown, coloured glasses, in multi layer technique, which Tapio Wirkkala used in Rosenthal. Artistic vessels in flashed glass, as this technique is called were already precious in ancient Rome. A thin layer of different colored glass is fused onto clear or light glass. The layers are firmly bonded together and do not separate from each other.
Design year 1963. Height 160mm, diameter 140 mm. Produced in small quantities
