ABOUT THIS DESIGN
The Gispen Pendant lamp white is a recognizable lighting object designed by the Dutch designer Richard Hutten for Gispen. The design uses stamped expanded metal that is produced flat and manually obtains its three-dimensional, cylindrical shape by stretching. This industrial fixture is a well-known example of Dutch Design and is suitable for use in various modern interior styles.
This specific version of the Gispen Pendant lamp white is constructed from two layered shades of fine-mesh metal. The inner cone features a white finish and the larger outer shade is finished in a white lacquer. Due to the open mesh structure of the expanded metal, the light source remains partially visible, which provides diffuse light distribution and a geometric play of shadows on the surrounding walls and ceiling. The fixture is finished at the top with a matching pendant and a transparent power cable.
