Product description
Iconic Panama 4050 wall light, designed by Wim Rietveld for Gispen in 1956. A beautiful example of Dutch post-war design, recognizable by its large flat shade, long adjustable arm, and characteristic red adjustment key. This piece features the beloved yellow shade, combined with a grey arm and black wall plate. The lamp has been carefully restored by me. The original yellow shade has been highly polished, giving it a beautiful deep shine again. Technically, the lamp has been fully checked and fitted with new wiring, a new E27 socket, a new plug, and a new diffuser. The arm and wall plate still show minor signs of wear consistent with their age. Thanks to its various hinge points, the Panama is extensively adjustable. Both functional and when switched off, it is a particularly strong object on the wall. The Gispen 4050 is now one of the classics of Dutch design and is included in the collection of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, among others.
