This decorative ceramic plate is the work of Giovanni Poggi, produced in the renowned San Giorgio workshop in Albisola. It is distinguished by its incised motif of a stylized horse, reflecting the expressive and free approach characteristic of mid-century Italian ceramics.
Made of terracotta and covered with a white glaze, the piece is enhanced with touches of primary colors applied with a brush, including blue, green, and yellow. The incised design reveals the natural color of the underlying terracotta, creating a subtle contrast with the glazed surface. The unglazed back of the plate bears the handwritten inscription "S. Giorgio Albisola," confirming its provenance. It is fitted with a wire hanger for immediate wall mounting.
