Fantastic bronze Buddha in Rattanakosin style, mounted on a black lacquered wooden base. This is the Dhyana Mudra Buddha, the meditating Buddha. This object originates from Thailand, first half of the 20th century.
Dhyana Mudra is the meditation gesture. In this gesture, both hands are folded together in the lap, with the right hand on top and the palms and soles facing upwards. With this, the Buddha symbolizes the gesture of inner meditation and tranquility. A meditating Buddha represents increased awareness, where the entire material world around us no longer matters. This showpiece will bring peace to your interior; it is a true eye-catcher with the right lighting.
