50x70 cm oil on canvas from 1977 by the Tuscan painter Gerolamo Bolli (pseudonym of Pierluigi Buscemi).
Drawing on Expressionist and Picasso influences, he, like his teacher Renato Guttuso, arrived at an intense realism. Self-taught, he had professional friendships and significant artistic influences, from Renato Guttuso to Renato Natali from Livorno, to the great Pisan master Salvatore Pizzarello (formerly a student and friend of Oskar Kokoshca), and Mino Maccari.
