Product description
Authentic and very typical lidded beer stein
(or collectible "Bierkrug") made of glazed Rhenish
stoneware, produced in West Germany by the illustrious
manufacturer Marzi & Remy (Höhr-Grenzhausen) during
the 1960s / 1970s.
This traditional Westerwald style piece is
distinguished by its superb two-tone glaze combining a
bright cobalt blue background with high-relief decorations
in cream and beige. The bulging belly depicts
the great architectures and castles of the region:
the inscription "Monschau Ruine Haller", "Bad Aachen"
and "Burg Heimbach Eifel" are engraved on the fly.
The whole is topped with its precious original hinged
domed lid made of solid carved pewter, connected
to a wood-imitation textured handle.
The heavy stoneware base features the official archive
mold number "3005" as well as its model size
"21" stamped into the mass, accompanied by the
famous brand hallmark representing a cogwheel
with a double ear of corn (the historical master's mark
of Marzi & Remy).
Features:
• Manufacturer: Marzi & Remy (Westerwald, Germany)
• Archive mold model: 3005 / Size 21
• Theme: Castles of the Eifel (Monschau, Aachen)
• Period: Circa 1960-1970
• Dimensions: Height 20 cm | Length (with handle)
15 cm | Diameter 11 cm
• Condition: Perfect condition (Mint). The
heavy stoneware is impeccable, the hinged mechanism of
the pewter is very fluid and the luster is original.
