Product description
This is a ceramic vase pitcher produced by the German manufacturer Strehla Keramik. The piece is an excellent example of East German (GDR) pottery from the mid-20th century, identified by the maker's mark and form number 2003 on the base. Crafted from ceramic, this vase features a distinctive combination of glazes and textures. The upper portion is finished in a vibrant, glossy chartreuse-yellow glaze that contrasts with the earthy, matte brown tones of the base and rim. A central band showcases a heavily textured, dark brown lava-like glaze applied in a swirling pattern, a characteristic technique of the era. The interior is finished in a simple, light-coloured glaze. The overall condition of the vase is very good, showing minimal signs of wear consistent with its age.
