Product description
Gerard Bruning made this ceramic sculpture a year before his self-chosen death in 1986 and it was exhibited that year during an exhibition in his own home / studio in Utrecht, see photos with information from the catalogue. Most of his oeuvre consists of large monumental bronze sculptures in public spaces, but it was only at the end of his life that he worked with the fragile material ceramic.
This work was purchased by the artist Thea Gregoor, through whose estate it came into my possession. My parents were friends with the Gregoor couple.
Gerard Bruning was my uncle.
