Product description
An iconic vintage modular wall system / room divider, designed in 1957 by the legendary American industrial designer George Nelson for Herman Miller and produced between 1959 and 1973.
Executed in off-white and still in very good condition with light signs of use (slight discoloration).
Modular, so entirely customizable to your own wishes.
With an additional cabinet section (the same as the one with sliding doors)
This configuration consists of 3 aluminum uprights that are clamped between the floor and the ceiling, 4 bookshelves, and three specific storage elements: a drawer unit, a storage cabinet with 2 doors, and a cabinet with sliding doors.
We have 2 of the sliding door cabinets, the 2nd is included in the price.
Entirely in line with George Nelson's vision, this CSS system (Comprehensive Storage System) is a prime example of 'mid-century modern' innovation; it offers unprecedented versatility and a sculptural appearance. It comes into its own perfectly in a living room, workspace, bedroom, or office.
Because the entire unit is clamped between the ceiling and the floor, the system can also be used as a room divider. The metal hanging hooks on the sides of the cabinets and shelves can also be optionally reversed to get a different version where the uprights are on the side of the cabinets and shelves.
Dimensions:
Suitable for ceiling height 230 - 250cm
Width 175cm
Depth 55cm
The entire unit is disassembled and ready.
