Reason for sale: due to relocation, this beautiful new sofa is no longer needed.

The sofa has a solid beech wood body with nosag suspension, seat and back constructed from high-quality Pantera cold foam.
Material & color of the sofa: Tonus Kvadrat 4 118 (for more information, see the website of Stoffenwereld). The unique Gelderland cover system makes it easy to replace the cover.

Tonus is a woolen upholstery fabric with a special story, which begins in the late 1960s with the introduction of the Danish Jørgen Rasmussen office chair. This chair had a sculpted, organic shape, which made it very difficult to upholster. Complex, and above all expensive. The now deceased Nina Koppel came into the picture, who designed an elastic fabric of 90% wool and 10% Helanca, which has since been used to cover many design furniture.
The sofa has been reupholstered and therefore suitable again to be able to enjoy it for the next 25 years! The color comes from the Designers Guild color palette.
This beautiful sofa comes from a pet and smoke free home (the sofa just came in 1 day from the reupholstery).

A well-known statement by Jan des Bouvrie is: First of all, a piece of furniture should serve people, it should be comfortable, you should feel good in it. But also: Creativity does not exist without passion. Both statements aptly reflect what Jan des Bouvrie understands by designing design furniture: linking optimum seating comfort to creative design, which expresses a passion for pure design. Without exception, all his designs, to this day, fit into that vision. But besides that, Jan des Bouvrie's designs are also a feast for the eyes.
After his education at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Jan des Bouvrie completed his apprenticeship in his parents' furniture store. Since then, Jan des Bouvrie has become an icon in the world of well-known Dutch design furniture designers. His designs have been awarded several times, including the Culture Prize (1974), the Style Prize for his armchair 5470F (1990) and the Furniture Prize for the seating series 6430 (1999).
Like no other, Des Bouvrie knows how to design design furniture that create atmosphere and offer ultimate seating comfort. Jan des Bouvrie and design furniture manufacturer Gelderland are often mentioned in the same breath. No wonder, because they have been working closely together for over 35 years
