The Gaetano Pesce Triple Play is an original design by the world-renowned Italian architect and designer Gaetano Pesce. The object is part of the sought-after Triple Play series, produced by Fish Design. Pesce is known for his resistance to mass production; each piece is hand-cast, making it a unique pièce unique within contemporary art history.
The tabletop of the Gaetano Pesce Triple Play is crafted from high-quality, hard polyurethane resin (resina rigida). An abstract, anthropomorphic face—a signature theme of Pesce—is incorporated into the top, executed in a deep blue and black color contrast.
The base demonstrates technical ingenuity: the legs consist of bundled stainless steel rods, which are fixed at the bottom by organically shaped, black resin feet. This construction offers the perfect balance between industrial sturdiness and artistic freedom. Fish Design products by Gaetano Pesce are included in leading museum collections worldwide, such as the MoMA and the Victoria and Albert Museum. The Triple Play series is an essential part of Pesce's later career (circa 2018), in which he completely blurs the boundaries between utilitarian object and sculpture.
