This table is from a very limited re-edition (100 numbered pieces) of an extremely rare design that Gae Aulenti created in 1969 for the French brand Prisunic.
This limited edition was produced to commemorate Prisunic and the exhibition that the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (MAD) in Paris dedicated to Prisunic in 2021. Prisunic was a very famous brand in the 1960s and 70s, producing furniture in collaboration with renowned designers such as Gae Aulenti and Marc Held. In France, Prisunic participated in the Space Age design movement.
Alongside Gio Ponti, Piero Fornasetti, Ettore Sottsass, Gabriella Crespi, and Joe Colombo, Gae Aulenti is one of Italy's most celebrated designers. She is best known for her Pipistrello lamp, her Locus Solus series created with Poltronova, her furniture for Knoll, and her designs for major museums such as the Musée d'Orsay.
