This elegant functionalist sideboard, likely produced in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s, combines elements of a bookcase and open shelving in a refined and modernist form. The design reflects the principles of functionalism, with an emphasis on clean lines, utility, and modern materials.
The piece features a combination of black-lacquered wood and bent chromed metal tubing, which serves both a structural and decorative purpose. The lower section includes sliding glass doors with precision-cut finger pulls for smooth handling, while the upper portion offers open display and storage space.
