This is a set of two French Art Deco bookends from the 1930s, featuring stylized baby deer on a marble base. The design reflects the elegance and preference for geometric shapes and luxurious materials characteristic of the Art Deco period. Each bookend consists of a sculpture of a deer, made of dark patinated metal, possibly bronze, with contrasting brass hooves. The figures stand on a solid, rectangular base of white marble with grey veining. The total height of each piece is approximately 14 cm, and the base has a depth of approximately 11 cm. This set is an authentic example of French design from that era. The overall condition is good and consistent with the age of the objects. A few small imperfections, see photos.
