After four years of WIK (Artist Income Benefit Act) training in Maastricht, the Netherlands, Chantalle Smeets has been working as a professional artist for 20 years. Together with Martiene Stevens (her partner and also an artist), they manage Kunsthuis Trobar Riemst (Belgium). Chantalle Smeets has developed a unique style, which is reflected in her sculptures of bronze, stone, ceramic, and wood. Her inspiration is nature. She also paints primarily in mixed media on canvas and panel. She has exhibited at various galleries and castles (including sculpture gardens) in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Spain, and her sculptures travel throughout Europe, the United States, and the Canary Islands.
