Special vintage Murano paperweight, attributed to Fratelli Toso, Italy – circa 1960s.
This beautiful solid glass paperweight is made of clear Murano glass with a rich bullicante effect. At its heart is a striking green-white flower murrine with a red center, surrounded by characteristic blue-white ribbon canes.
The combination of the central flower murrine, the radially placed blue-white canes, and the many enclosed air bubbles gives the object a special depth effect when viewed from different angles.
The execution closely matches known Fratelli Toso Murano paperweights from the 1960s, including examples with the same combination of flower murrine, ribbon canes, and bullicante technique.
A beautiful collector's item for lovers of Italian glass, Murano, Fratelli Toso, and Mid-Century Design. Due to its compact sculptural form, it is also a beautiful Decorative Objects for a display cabinet, dresser, or bookshelf.
