Product description
This is a vintage sideboard by the Dutch manufacturer Formule Meubelen, a characteristic example of 1960s furniture design. The piece embodies the clear, functional aesthetic of the Mid-Century Modern period, often described as Danish style.
The sideboard is made of wood with a warm teak veneer and stands on a minimalist black metal base. The design combines storage space behind four doors with a central block of four drawers in a contrasting cream color. The drawers feature distinctive brass handles, adding a refined detail to the sleek design. This piece of furniture is a product of Kempkes Meubelfabrieken NV from Waddinxveen, an important player in Dutch post-war design.
The furniture is in good, used condition consistent with its age. The original finish has been preserved, and the wood and fittings show an authentic patina that enhances the character of the piece. The construction is solid, and all parts are functional, including the original key for the cabinet doors.
With its generous storage space and timeless appearance, this sideboard is an elegant and practical addition to a living or dining room. It fits seamlessly into an interior with a preference for Scandinavian design, vintage, or an eclectic mix of styles.
