For sale is a Hermes 2000 typewriter, an iconic and highly sought-after model among collectors. Key features: Manufacturer: Made by the Swiss company Paillard, known for its precision engineering in watches and music boxes. The Hermes 2000 was launched in the 1930s (from 1932/1933). This specific glossy black model with round keys and metal bezels is typical of the early pre- and post-war generations. Keyboard: Features a classic QWERTY layout with round glass/bakelite keys. This machine was loved for its extremely smooth, light, and fast typing experience. At the time, the model was the brand's first true portable typewriter and the direct predecessor of the later, well-known green Hermes 3000.
