A table lamp by the Italian manufacturer Fontana Arte, model 3064. This 1994 design is a characteristic example of the postmodern lighting design for which the brand is known. The lamp combines a sculptural form with functional lighting, making it both a light source and a decorative object.
The construction consists of a metal base with a grey, textured finish, on which rests a conical diffuser of white opal glass or plastic. A larger, also conical shade of white plastic completes the ensemble. The lamp is equipped with a double switch, allowing the light source in the base and the main lighting in the shade to be switched on separately or simultaneously. This provides versatile ambient lighting, from a subtle accent light to a brighter, diffused light. The underside is marked with 'Fontana Arte', 'Made in Italy' and the model and design year.
In overall good condition, consistent with age and careful use. The materials have retained their original finish and color, and the electrical components, including the original double switch, are fully functional. The lamp shows the character of a vintage design piece.
