Acrylic on canvas - 40 cm x 30 cm. Featured in 2022. Provenance: purchased directly from the artist in 2022 - at Gallery Sofie Van de Velde (Antwerp - Belgium) @The Wunderwall. The common factor in the work of this emerging artist is chaos. Alienating scenes lurk in the storylines of his paintings, in which his imagination is fed by the atmosphere of his studio. Stuffed animals with razor-sharp teeth and black eyes find their place among his canvases and materials. Koekoeckx creates a fluid interplay between drawings from his imagination and images from old magazines and books. His works take shape gradually: one drawing is the - often very intuitive - trigger for another addition.
