Probably made of luxurious silk plush, as was common for quality top hats from this period. Particularly interesting is the old provenance noted in the original box: • Handwritten “Alberts / Amersfoort” • Also “W. Bruggink” • Estimated purchase date: 16-3-1932 The mention “Alberts / Amersfoort” may refer to the well-known Alberts family from Amersfoort, who later were active in the antique trade. This connection is plausible, but not fully documented.
