Product description
Still life in light, color and silence
A serene study of flowers, light and form. Stripped of their natural colors and translated into the intense blue tones of cyanotype, the flowers become almost abstract – delicate traces of nature, captured by light.
For me, 'Flowerpower' is less about capturing flowers and more about atmosphere: the interplay between transparency, shadow, form and silence.
The work was created in 2026 using the historical cyanotype process, invented in 1842 by Sir John Herschel. The paper is hand-coated with a light-sensitive layer and exposed to UV light (sunlight). The image only fully develops during processing in water, creating the characteristic, deep Prussian blue of the cyanotype.
This is not a digital print, giclée or lithograph. It is an authentic analog photographic process where light itself creates the final image. Because each sheet of paper is individually coated, exposed and developed, small variations in brushstrokes, density and color are an integral part of the work. No two prints are exactly alike.
Produced on Hahnemühle Platinum Rag (300 g/m²), a high-quality, acid-free fine art paper specially developed for traditional and alternative photographic printing techniques.
Limited edition of 5 copies.
