Product description
Cup or "Vas de les Flora", silvered ceramic from 1924 designed by Adolf Fargnoli and executed by Marco Quart Gerona. Referenced in the book “Adolf Fargnoli (1890-1951) del Noucentisme a l’avantguarda” by Pilar Vélez. Adolf Fargnoli Ianetta (La Bisbal d’Empordà, 1890 – Barcelona, 1951) was a cabinetmaker and goldsmith from the circle of artists and artisans who became known in Girona around the figure of the architect Rafael Masó, along with sculptors Fidel Aguilar and Jaume Busquets, among others. Settled in Girona and later in Barcelona, Adolf Fargnoli gained great recognition especially for his caskets, chests, small boxes and carved wooden jewelry, often worked with fire and in which he inlaid ceramic pieces, ivory, stones or metals, and baptized them with poetic titles. He held individual exhibitions in Catalonia and in the Spanish State, and also in different cities in Europe and America. On the base is the stamp of the ceramist Marcó Quart Gerona. Measures 17,5 high and 11,5 cm in diameter. Well preserved except for a touch on the bottom part and another on top (see photos)
