Product description
This is a glass bottle vase, designed by the Dutch designer Floris Meydam in 1953 for Glasfabriek Leerdam. The piece is part of the renowned Serica series, known for its artistic and experimental character within Dutch glass design.
The vase is made of hand-blown glass and has a height of approximately 50 cm. Characteristic is its two-tone design, where a vibrant green base smoothly transitions into a soft, milky white color in the long, slender neck. This technique, known as cased glass, creates a subtle color gradient. The design is a typical example of the organic and minimalist aesthetic of the mid-20th century.
The object is in good, vintage condition consistent with its age. The original Leerdam factory sticker is still partially present on the glass.
With its elegant and sculptural form, this vase is a refined object that stands out both individually and in a composition. It seamlessly fits into an interior with a preference for Mid-Century Modern or Dutch Design, for example on a sideboard, a console, or in a display cabinet.
